901 Day | Shelby Farms Ribbon Cutting

Happy 901 Day!! Today I celebrated by going to the ribbon cutting at Shelby Farms

The plans to expand and renovate that park have been ongoing since 2007. It was awesome to see it come to fruition before my very eyes! A ton of folks put in hard work - several board members and volunteers around the city.

The Hyde family made an extremely generous donation that helped get this project started. Former Patriot lake is now larger and known as Hyde Lake. There are new picnic tables and benches. There is a new, beautiful visitor center as well as and event center. And, now there is a restaurant, The Kitchen. There will also be a new splash park!

Cut!

They handed out a program for the event as well as these goodies: Shelby Farms shoestrings and a pencil that has seeds at the end of it (in the black part). I got cherry tomato seeds!
